"A comfortable, well presented property with lovely views of the Canal du Midi. It is ideally located for visits to Carcassonne, Cabrespine cave, lovely old French villages and wine tasting. Unfortunately, there was a strong wind during our stay so barbeques were not possible, however, the kitchen was well equipped to cook inside. Ann-Marie and Adrian were knowledgeable and kind hosts. We warmly recommend this property."

"Lovely setting, well equipped house, especially for us with baby and toddler. The only let down was the weather! We still managed to use the pool. Pool setting is excellent."

"Great location by the Canal du Midi, which has a cycle route alongside. We cycled in both directions, and another day took the bikes by car to cycle further away. Also good access to Carcassonne and supermarkets by car. Comfortable gite, looks just like the photos. Enough kitchen equipment and a three-ring induction hob for eating in. After we'd paid for the gite the owner contacted us for €300 cash deposit, and told us about additional electricity charges per day. "We had a wonderful stay here, the place is centrally located amongst the vineyards. The settings is private and well appointed. We laid out at night on the loungers watching the stars. As it is located in the countryside the night sky was an amazing display of bright stars. Easy drive to Carcassonne or the Mediterranean. The town of la liviniare is close 5min drive with two restaurants. The host was welcoming and helpful on things to do in the region. We enjoyed our stay and would come again."

"We had a lovely stay at Montbrun des Corbieres. The village is very quaint, no shops or boulangerie, but a very good bread vending machine once you got the hang of it.! Great location for touring the Languedoc-Roussillon region, within 1.15 hours drive of Perpignan, Montpelier, Toulouse etc. 25 mins from Carcassonne and Narbonne. Canal du Midi 15 mins. "The apartment was spacious. 1 bedroom, and sofa bed in living/kitchen area. Very clean and great air-conditioning. Kitchen/cooking area was basic but adequate for a short stay. Perfect hotel in perfect location.

"Nice older hotel, but all modern features in room, in excellent location. About a 10 minute walk to amazing fortress/castle and same to the old part of town. Hotel had a small store attached, where you can buy great wine at an excellent price. They also had a great selection of cheeses and bread, plus other nice foods/snacks. Also, on the third floor they had a nice small terrace area to sit and drink wine, enjoy your bread and cheese and get an amazing view of the magnificent castle/fortress. They also had a nice patio garden area, but we didn’t avail ourselves of this. Lastly, the staff were friendly and the owners were on site all the time. They were very kind and helpful to us as we had to stay an extra night. Would thoroughly recommend this outstanding hotel, with extremely kind and friendly owners. "

"We had an excellent 1 night stay at Sowell Le Chevaliers. The staff was very patient during our check in. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Carcassonne. The room was clean and nicely appointed with a walkout spacious terrace. We wish we could have stayed another night. The view we had of the walled city and overlooking the river (with bird activity) was a treat."

Hôtel Le Donjon - Coeur de la Cité Médiévale

5/5 Excellent

"This is a historic hotel in the heart of Carcassonne. There are steps to the rooms. It was clean with an accommodating staff. We had a later arrival than planned and the parking attendant waited and got us and all our luggage to the hotel. We were able to access parking after hours also with a code. Breakfast was good. The bar area was lovely. I would stay here again."
