"I had a great time at the Dom Henrique. I got an upgrade upon checking in, which was nice, and I was also pleasantly surprised to be tended to by a lady at the front desk who spoke perfect French. The hotel is conveniently located, a short walk to a central metro station and to old town (and about 20 minutes to the river). "Hostel is all gender bathrooms which is ok but toilets has a smell of Pooh. Floors creek, rooms was clean, bed comfy and staff very helpful. Area was great, center of attraction to shopping, food, walking tours. "

"I know for some people having to leave your key at reception is jarring and confusing but in practice it's not too inconvenient as the hardworking hostess is always at reception at all hours. The location is great for access to a direct metro to/from the airport, although it's not right in the centre of the action. I would recommend this hotel if you're happy to use the metro and/or walk into the centre"
