"Property grounds are beautiful and pools great. Old hotel. Interior needs many upgrades like carpets, painting and upgraded bathrooms. Lobby nice. Restaurants on site not good but some great options are waljable. It stated free shuttle which is one reason we booked but only runs starting at 5 am. We had to leave at 3 pm so had to pay for transportation."

"We stayed here the days of our arrival and departure from SJO. Perfect for our needs. Super clean room and facilities. Recognizing they are far from town, they offer dinner and bar service in the evening. Having a nice cocktail and dinner in our room was a relaxing way to end our day."

"Nice new hotel. Comfortable and clean. We were not happy with the arrangement for pick-up at the airport. No listing for HGI although other hotels were named on signage; we had multiple people trying to hustle us to take rides with them. Thankfully HGI shuttle driver eventually showed up and explained to us that he'd be back soon to pick us up (the hustlers kept saying (lying) that it would take 45 mins for him to return). "An amazing property to stay at if you have a quick 24-36 hour layover in Costa Rica. The staff is polite and attentive, the rooms are incredibly designed to provide a cultural feel with eco sensitivities, and the best part is that the property has about 2-3 hours of hiking available on the grounds Will come back next time I'm flying through SJO"

"It’s great but very noisy with traffic on highway, air traffic and the air conditioner sounded like a jet taking off every time it started. Room was great and bed/pillows comfy though. "
