"This is excellent hotel, and we loved the building and the surrounding garden. It is not in the main area of large all inclusive hotels, but in a residential part of the city which made our Madeira experience more authentic. The walk to the center is easy, but I imagine it may be not that comfortable for someone with walking difficulties. We enjoyed our climb and had bo problem with it. The hotel garden is so well kept, gardener obviously doing good job. (And Sasha dog accompanying him) The views to Funchal and the ocean are also amazing. Our room was spacious and comfortable. What was a bit disturbing was the morning noise from the kitchen and the breakfast area. It would have been better if they kept the door to the kitchen closed. But the nights were silent and we could have a good rest. What is very special at the hotel is its staff, especially Jessica and Nuno at the reception, whose tips and assistance made our stay much easier. And also Delia from the accounting team who made our Madeira adventure memorable. "

"Had a great stay all the staff were great. We had an upgrade to a suite what was very nice of them. The location was lovely and allowed easy travel to all places. Overall would recommend hotel to anyone, I would also gladly return to this hotel. "

"The hotel is above a shopping centre without any grounds around the hotel, however, it is in an excellent location within easy walking distance to the old town. All the staff were very helpful throughout our stay. The bedroom was sleek and modern with an ‘open plan’ shower/wash area. The beds were very comfortable with 3 different pillows varying from soft to firm. There are no views other than from the rooftop swimming pool and bar area but this didn’t significantly detract from the stay as we were out most of the time. The breakfast buffet was excellent with good quality ingredients and freshly squeezed orange juice. We were also amused by the mobile robot which took the dirty dishes back to the kitchen. Overall the hotel lives up to it’s 5 star billing, is excellent value for money and I would highly recommend a stay at the Vine the next time you are in Funchal."
