"Beautiful property, convenient to the airport. Lovely lunch and free drinks, rooms are clean and spacious. Lovely patio, Staff were very kind and helpful. The only thing I’d mention is the carpeting going up to the rooms is very dirty/stained."

"Basic accommodation. Needs a mirror in the room, a little more heating in the rooms during the winter months, terrace wasn't as beautiful as what it shows in the photo. Beds were so comfy and cosy!"

"It was very basic for the type of hotel we are used to staying in but none the less very clean and friendly. Perfect for backpackers and central food prep area for those who like to meet and chat with others. More of a hostel feel. "

"We enjoyed our stay very much. We had a room for three which was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent, each member was friendly and ensured that our needs were met. Parking was on the street, it was free and within close proximity to the guest house. I definitely recommend a stay."

"Great location, bit of a walk but very much worth it. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff couldn’t do enough to help. Property was a little tired in places but it just added to its rustic charm. Would recommend and defo visit again x"

"This is not a hotel. The description on Expedia was very misleading. When we booked a deluxe room we thought it was a hotel but in actual fact it was a room in a shared apartment wihin a very private residential block. We arrived late evening and spent a few hours trying to locate the property as no directions had been given Several very kind locals tried to help us and we kept coming back to the door of what looked like a residential aparment with zero signage. "The apartment was comfortable, reasonably well equipped, and the beds were good. There was daily housekeeping, and linens were changed every 3 or 4 days. There's a modest gym, sauna, steam room, indoor and outdoor pools, a hot tub, a cold tub, and a tennis court. We ate in mostly, but there's enough restaurants open in February to eat out too. This was our second stay at Cerro Mar."

"We selected the all inclusive buffet and it was amazing day after day. Sao was always welcoming and so was all the staff. The location is close enough to walk to the beach and restaurants. The backyard pool was pleasant to hang out around and read or have a drink. The rooms are a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Excellent stay of 2 weeks. "

"I was shocked that this hotel is a 3 star hotel because it seems like a 4 or 5 star. Excellent service, super friendly staff so clean, spacious apartment and very modern/beautiful. Also in a really good location very close to the restaurants."

"Stayed for 4 nights, hotel in a great location. Easy access to beach, marina, shops, restaurants and a short walk into Quarteira. From the moment you enter, the staff are amazing. Large, comfortable rooms, restaurants, bars and general areas all immaculate. Great indoor and outdoor pools, spa and gym contained in beautiful grounds. B&B option includes a superb buffet breakfast, with large variety of foods available. Although located at bottom of marina and hotel was busy, very quiet at night with no noise, which was great."

"Don’t hesitate to stay at this very special hotel! The setting is beautiful with lovely views, gardens, lake and man -made beach. We took the bird/flora tour and the wine tasting, both were fantastic! The choice of leisure activities is awesome, something for everyone! Breakfasts were just the best with so much choice (the fruit and freshly baked bread and pastries were exceptional). Above all, a big thank you to the staff who, without exception, could not do enough for you with a smile and a greeting. Special mention to Alex, customer relations, who sent us wine and macaroons and was so helpful, Mona in the restaurant who anticipated our every need and was such fun! The lovely, bubbly (great English!) lady on reception who took the bird tour. Wonderful holiday, ten out of ten."
