"As a couple we stayed in a ranch studio that accommodates six people so we had plenty of room. The windows look out on sycamore trees and the porch has a bird feeder, so beautiful views. The kitchen, sofa area, two double beds, and bathroom were very well organized. It's a working ranch,so quiet, but family nearby if questions. The Chiricahua Monument is a few minutes up the road!"

"We stayed for 3 nights with our dog. It was perfect! Very comfortable, very clean. The yard is lovely. Communication with Matthew was awesome! He answered any questions promptly. We saw deer everyday. Due to it being out of town, there was very little light pollution and the stars were amazing. I would recommend this property. "

"Valley Vista Getaway provided us with everything we needed for a long weekend of hiking the Chiricahua Mountains. The VRBO listing for the property is exactly accurate. The cabin has a well-equipped kitchen so we cooked meals easily with food we brought in from Tucson. The bedroom was comfortable, and we had excellent sleeps under the dark skies. Cathy and John are responsive and amiable while also respecting our space. If you want a quiet weekend with easy access to the Chiricahuas this is your place."

"This was our 8th year staying at The Painted Pony with my wife, children, parents, uncle and family friends. We look forward to this week all year and it never disappoints. My wife was especially excited to see the new refrigerator Glen had in the main house! We were treated to some delicious desserts, delivered to us by Bryce. While there, Bryce changed a kitchen lightbulb for us with a smile on his face. Everyone we’ve ever come into contact with regarding the property has never been anything but wonderful. Glen does a great job choosing these folks. Each year we arrive and immediately feel like we are home. There is no place like The Painted Pony. We have already booked our dates for next year and can’t wait! "

"After doing a lot of searching and reading we selected this property largely because of the number of good reviews. They were not wrong. This is a very special place that was completely built by the hosts. Everything you need for your stay other than food and clothes are provided should you choose to use them. The kitchen is well stocked with spices, coffee, condiments, and all of the equipment you might need to prepare your meals. Welcoming you is a bottle of local wine, a loaf of banana bread and some fresh eggs. The house is nicely laid out with plenty of space. Three bedrooms and two baths. Especially nice are the very large front and back yard patio spaces where we enjoyed coffee in the morning and a cocktail at night while we watched the wildlife. Deer and turkeys were the most frequent visitors. We also enjoyed interacting with the rescue horses on the property. It is super quiet and really dark at night. You'll see more stars than you can imagine. Cell service here is poor at best but the Wi-Fi is strong and we had no trouble communicating with our computer, phones and using the TV's in the living room and bedroom. (we didn't use the TV's much because it's so delightful outside) The hosts live a short distance away on the same property. They are a wonderful couple who will do anything to make your visit pleasant. Hopefully you will get a chance to chat with them as they have amazing backgrounds. We felt like we were visiting old friends. Can't wait to go back!"
