"This is a small European like hotel in old San Juan. The hotel is very calm and quiet, with no kids allowed. The staff are very friendly and helpfu. You have to remember there is no elevator, and the rooms are small by US standards. We had an interior room with no windows. They do not serve food, but there are tons of restaurants very close to the hotel. Did I mention the open bar?"

"I loved that the hotel was smack dab in the middle of Old San Juan. The architecture and cultural vibe of the hotel was very authentic. The hotel had everything I needed. As a solo traveler I was safe and secure. My room, the classic queen, was small, perfect for one, would’ve been a bit tight with two. "Casa of essence is located in a really convenient location in old san juan which allows to explore it easily with a lot of options for food, drinks, and music all around. The Bamboo room is overall good and comfy, but there was a moldy odor in the room. We also saw cockroaches in the bathroom and near the fridge. This didn’t ruin our experience, so I recommend this location for your stay in the beautiful San Juan."
