"We loved the nature around Trogon Lodge. The landscaping was amazing, and my son loved watching the trout in the pond. We loved all the birds and the hiking trails. The grounds of Trogon Lodge were so lush and beautiful, and photos cannot capture their enchanting beauty. For people with mobility issues, be aware that the lodge is a steep slope and could be difficult for some. Also, it is advisable to pack wisely so you don't bring unnecessary luggage up to the room, as it is a trek carrying it. "

"Villa Los Aires is simply breathtaking! Esteban was outstanding as were the housekeeper and the cook. The main concierge was hands off and really left most of the heavy lifting to the staff on site who stepped up and showed us an amazing time! All three of them took great care of us showed us all the wonders that Costa Rica had to offer on the property… the river, the waterfalls, and all of the amazing creatures of nature. Even when some of the group wasn’t feeling great Esteban stepped in to make sure our needs were met, and everybody was on the mend. I highly recommend the property and its staff if you want I truly amazing stay. A couple items of note: the road to the villa is quite mountainous so if you are someone who suffers from motion sickness, be prepared. Also, hot water is sometimes not abundant in the showers, but with the heat and humidity, the cooler showers were often welcomed. "

"The hotel is absolutely unique. We were in cabin 14and was literally living in the jungle with floor to ceiling windows. So peaceful to watch nature with our own viewing deck. Excellent restaurant and staff were great. We went in late march and it was very cool being at higher altitude so maybe take a jacket. Well worth the trip!!!!!"

"We had a little cabin with a kitchen and wood stove and it was lovely. Wished we booked it for a week and bought groceries to just live there. Saw a MotMot right outside our window. Perfect for honeymoon or second honeymoon."

"Chef Fran was truly a fantastic cook. The meals were the best we had all of our two weeks of travel in Costa Rica. The location was beautiful and so was the architecture. We felt a bit constrained by the three meals being included in the price of our room. Other than that, everything about the hotel was phenomenal."

"Room was comfortable. No view from room. Pretty area with gardens around walkways. Not a lot of outside seating areas. Most rooms are a walk uphill a ways. Not many have close parking. Trails uphill behind resort. 4x4 drive to upper parking was in good shape and looked good enough for 2 wheel when dry. Dining was fine, with good service. Trout was good, though I think it was better for lunch up the road at the next cafe. Bar area has seating and fire. Happy hour 3-5. The resort seems to do a lot of large bus groups. Dining room was full with 4 tables of 10-15 people and just a handful of couples at other tables."
