"Mawamba lodge was a beautiful property! It looks prettier in person - photos don’t do it justice! The pool was great and much needed to just cool down a little bit! The staff was very attentive and the food was honestly pretty great. The only thing is, the weather is VERY humid and there is no air conditioning anywhere so be prepared. The bugs are pretty bad, bug spray is much needed! Regardless, this was a great place to visit and I have nothing bad to say about the property! "

"Great stay in a clean room with a large bed and bathroom perfect for our stay in Tortuguero. The room had air conditioning and a great view right on the water with two rocking chairs on a nice porch area. Within walking distance to the town."

"This lodge is hands down one of the best places I’ve ever stayed in all my years of travel. From the moment I arrived, the staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. The pickup from the small airport was seamless and really eased the anxiety of arriving in a new, unfamiliar place. The pool was a highlight, with a perfect temperature and a unique design that overlooks the water—truly stunning. My room had tasteful, colorful decor and featured some fun outdoor furniture, giving it a lively, tropical vibe. It was also impeccably clean, which can be challenging in a tropical environment, but the staff does an excellent job maintaining it. Another thoughtful touch was the umbrellas provided in each room, a lifesaver in a place where it rains so often. Fun benefit - the sound of howler monkeys in the mornings made the experience quite special. The room was also incredibly quiet, ensuring I had great sleep each night. Getting into town was super easy with the water taxi service. All in all, I had an amazing stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone!"

"Perfect honeymoon property. This property is a hidden gem. Found it last minute and was extremely delightful with the spacious private bungalow, fireplace, hammock, outdoor shower and overall creative architectural design nestled in the rainforest and surrounded by farms. The fresh farm to table breakfast was rich in flavor and the service was attentive without being overbearing. The only con would be no cell phone service and limited wifi connectivity. "

"We were upgraded to a bungalow which looked great and was extremely spacious. We felt like we were staying in the middle of the jungle. Pool area was lovely with loads of wildlife. Only downside was that the shower lacked any power."

"Our stay at The Caribbean Paradise lodge was very pleasant, the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The grounds are very clean , lots of wildlife you can hear and see. It is 10 minutes away from Tortuguero village by taxi boat, but the staff is always ready to help with that. There is no AC but the fan in the room was sufficient and we had comfortable nights and slept well enjoying the sounds of nature . The breakfast was included and is an open buffet, you can arrange to buy lunch and dinner which are made on the property . We would love to go again . "
