The staff was amazing & locked our key in the room by accident and couldn't find spare key but they called a locksmith who got us back in. The hotel is lovely and food is amazing. "I have stayed at The Royal many times and even got married here. Absolutely love the place, stuff are fantastic, we stayed in a room on 3rd floor for a very good rate and it was lovely, spacious and clean. "

"We had a brilliant weekend. The staff were first class. The hotel upgraded our room free of charge when they heard it was our ruby wedding. The views from our room were nothing short of spectacular. Although the hotel is a little ‘tired’ in places it did not detract anything from the weekend. The hotel has character and class. It gives the impression of being remote, but it is tucked away on the top of the cliffs close to the main Whitby to Scarborough road. Food was very good and the bar had a great ambience. Highly recommend."

"Overnight stay for a business trip. Check in was easy enough, as was the free car parking ticket. A view of the sea from the room, which was very clean, well equipped and very quiet. Will definitely look to stay here on future trips"
