"Check in was easy and the staff were very friendly. in fact all of the staff were very helpful, friendly but professional. the views were fantastic even when it was a bit cloudy, looking out to Robin Hood Bay when eating breakfast and dinner was a great treat, breakfast on the first morning was buffet style, while morning two was a cooked in kitchen, traditional UK type breakfast, cereals etc were as day one. Dinner was sublime, the choice was limited to other restaurants menus however the pie was make from scratch and the food was hot not just warm as other dining establishments that cost a lot more. The room was very spacious, light, airy and very clean with again very good vistas of the Bay, the bed was very comfy and plenty of space for clothing. however the small disappointment was the size of the bathroom, cramped compared to the room itself. the shower was powerful enough and easy to control the heat, bath was small, there was water damage to the plastic covered mdf bath panel and base, if solid plastic this would not be a problem, there was a light not working and becoming detached from the ceiling. Apparently we should have been informed on checking in that the TV signal was very poor via freeview/terrestial and we should have been using the streaming services? The hotel is going through much needed updated and convertions but never heard any of the work in our room, where the lift is there are items stored there and seems a little run down. would go back tomorrow."

"A lovely homely cottage which was an excellent place to spend Christmas and very well equipped for cooking Christmas dinner! My family all loved it and we would consider staying again."

"Overall the property was very well kept, clean and tidy. The bedrooms have a really relaxing feel with very comfortable beds, the shower room was lovely and warm and working exactly as it should, these are probably the most important things for us when we book a stay away, a good shower to help relax and a great nights sleep, and the owners have got that perfect here. The only thing we felt wasn't ideal for the dark winter was the living room light is on a censor and switches on when it detects the slightest movement and the lights are very bright, we had to hang a scarf over the sensor to stop it turning on while we relaxed and watched TV with the non lit room being a lot more cosy! a lamp not as bright as the main lights would be a great addition. The cottage is situated down a very quiet secluded county lane, you're surrounded entirely by countryside views and peaceful bliss, however Whitby is only a few minutes car journey away, there is plenty of places to visit nearby, it's a great location. We would definitely stay again and likely will. "

"We spent two nights at the cottage in October. We loved the location and the bedrooms were perfect! Lounge/ kitchen area rather small, but fine. "

"The cottage is compact, but every inch of space is used to the maximum to make it a very comfortable, cosy place to base yourself. The kitchen is well stocked and easy to use. The living area is tiny, but with a comfy sofa and armchair is fine to hang out in. The stairs are very steep, especially to the attic bedroom (come down in reverse and use the rope provided!) Ideal for a family with younger children (who will love the attic bedroom), but I managed to negotiate the stairs as a reasonably fit and active grandma😁 The cottage is at the bottom of the hill, very ancient for the beach and main village."

"Nice little B&B with great hosts. Stayed for two nights. Room has a fridge which is big enough for quite a few tins/bottles so that was good to have. Decent shower. Brekko was a great fry up. My gf couldn't get up in time for it as it ends at 9am, however the guys gladly provided me with some food for her which we put in a tupperware box for later. Great location as the centre of RH Bay is quite close. There's also a bus stop close by where you can get to Whitby for only £2. Would highly recommend a stay here. "
