"Very nice and helpful English speaking member of staff. However, the room felt very similar to a youth hostel. The room was incredibly cramped and dated. The lighting in bathroom was so dim it was impossible to have a bath with the door closed as would be in darkness. There were polystyrene panels blocking up a wall from our room to next door, which meant we could hear everything that was going on, and vice versa. "The room was on the small side, but the amenities were great. The best of course was the onsen on the top floor. Very relaxing, with free ice cream in the evening and free probiotic drink in the morning. They also had free drinks (soda) in the afternoon in the restaurant, and a free half bowl of Ramen from 9:30 in the evening. This is a little bit of a walk from the station, but definitely top of my list when I go back. "

"We only stayed one night in Morioka but would have happily remained a little longer at this hotel. The room and bed were comfortable, and the staff were very pleasant. The breakfast buffet was by far the highlight, with a wonderful variety of hot and cold options, and plenty of vegetarian dishes for my husband.
