"Very friendly staff in this pub with rooms located in a peaceful village setting outside the hustle and bustle of Whitby. Very good food, brilliant breakfast and a grand pot of tea. Local doorstep walks and a super walk into Whitby for those fit and active. A great find. Hope to visit again."

One night stay in family room which was perfectly set out with kids feeling like they had their own room and we had a good space to ourselves aswell to relax while they were sleeping. The staff were very friendly and accommodating letting us grab drinks from the bar and take to room. Even opened us a bottle of our own wine to take up!! "This is above a pub 2 minutes from the station. Eaglescliffe is a nice place to stay though there isn't much around the station to look at. The hotel is a bit basic but clean and good value for money."

"A lovely stay at the Royal Oak for one night. Very friendly and attentive staff. They were more than happy to arrange late access to the property due to us having to return to the room late at night. Breakfast was excellent, with options for full English or kippers, plus plenty of toast, cereals, fruit, yoghurt. The car park is very small, and can't accommodate all vehicles, however there is ample parking on the road at the front of the property. The room was comfortable with clean linens....

"Brilliant place to stay in, parking close by if you want to pay! Although they do give you a parking permit for the zones near by if you can find a space. Really convenient for a walk down to the harbour/beach "

"When we checked in, we did not stay in the actual Queen Catherine. Instead they walked us across the street to the three tuns hotel. I'm guessing it's part of it but they don't really make that known while booking. Otherwise it was a good stay and nice accommodation. Breakfast was good. "
