"We had a fabulous time in Maui- because how can you not?! That being said, we have stayed at several other resorts across the island, and enjoyed them much more than Honua Kai. The room/unit itself was ok - size was good, and it had a well-stocked kitchen. The unit overall could use a refresh, furniture was worn down, large hole in the couch (as mentioned in other reviews), and overall just seems a little old/rundown. The property manager was very accommodating and her communication was good....

"Location - right next to the dumpster and the smoking section… nothing like trash and smoke smell all week. The room was similar to a rundown super 8, not clean, the beds were not comfortable and didn’t really feel comfortable staying there. There was 1 box of Kleenex with 2 tissues in it, lack of dishes had us running dishwasher daily, and the demands by the host made us feel like we had to leave it cleaner than when we came. We were not impressed in the least and will not recommend nor stay...

"My family had an incredible stay at the Hyatt Vacation Club this July. The rooms have all the comforts of home that made an extended 2-week vacation most comfortable: full kitchen, washer/dryer, housekeeping, and more. "The property has a well equipped kitchen and grill. So we could by fresh fish from the market and enjoy at the house. We had a small issue the curtains and they fixed it immediately!! The beach cabana is such a great addition! It is also equipped with appliances and dishes so we could bring lunch and drinks down to steer in the refrigerator. The property is one of the best places on the island to snore! All around amazing accommodation! "

"This is a perfect unit in a very nice building right on the waterfront. The unit was clean, very comfortable and well appointed. There was even a blender to make smoothies. Great view of the beach and the ocean. The lobby, barbecue and parking were spacious, clean and easy to use. Great location and good access to shops and restaurants. We’ll be coming back for sure!"

"We had a wonderful time here in Maui. The place was a little dated but worth it for the view. It was nice to wake up every morning and see the ocean. We would stay here again. The only negative would be that the cleaning supplies they used to clean the unit was very strong. Took a bit to air it out."

"Nice location, reasonable snorkeling rentals on site, premier snorkeling reefs at Kaanapali start only 200 yards away. Trolley (free) to Whaler's Village runs every half hour much of the day until about 9, which is a nice option. Minor drawbacks included no icemakers (?). Overall, nice impression, it compares quite well with nearby properties on value. "
