"The property was functional and mostly clean. The grill was not clean and the heating filters need to be replaced, but the place was well equipped and worked well as a base for our day trips. It lacks a lot of personal touches and small conveniences (e.g., no facial tissues, one half roll of paper towels, towels and linens were stained); comes off as a rental property, not someone's home, but that is how it is used and it works."

The hike to the top of the lookout tower was amazing (best to drive up thru Bassets and then towards Packer Lake so that you don't have to drive up the rough unpaved road from Sierra City).
