"Hotels.com booked me into a hotel that was closed for the winter! I arrived in the evening after a long journey to find everything closed but for the help of the caretaker I would have been stranded and seriously at risk. I had to find another hotel in Les Eyzies and pay 70 euros for a taxi to get there. "

"Everyone was extremely welcoming and attentive. The Chateau looks amazing on arrival and even more so in the evening. It has a fabulous pool area and the views over the surround countryside are stunning. Our room was lovely which also had amazing views. There is parking on site and we had breakfast booked which was good. The village is a stones throw and definitely worth going to visit. "

Charming farmhouse surrounded by greenery with view of Monpazier - private pool

Great family holiday

"Took wife, daughter and her friend. It was a long way from the nearest autoroute but a lovely drive through France. It took about 7 hours from Caen (will fly to Bergerac next time) The farmhouse was beautiful, clean and spacious. Comfy beds, well-catered kitchen, good WiFi. Nearby (1k walk) Monpazier had everything we needed, 2 x Boulangerie, v important, lots of bars, especially the Bier de la Bastide. The Michelin Star Edward I hotel and restaurant is worth every penny but don't bring young children there in my opinion. There are simpler and cheaper alternatives too. Sylvian, our greeter, was very good and contactable by whatsapp when needed. "

Cute hotel

"Cute hotel in a beautiful village. The building and pool area are gorgeous. It’s free and easy to park on the streets surrounding the hotel. The room was small but had everything we needed including a Smeg fridge. The bed was comfortable but the wasn’t great. An overall pleasant stay."

Very nice villa

"The villa, facilities and owners are all nice. A little too hot in the house without air-conditioning when temperature outside hits 30c. It's very quiet there , perfect for calm holiday, but on the flip side, due to the location we had way too much of a wildlife around house. Also the only town in close proximity is Monpazier it's a small town with very limited selection of entertainment. Yet it's a beautiful, historical location with loads of character. Overall it is perfect for a very quiet holiday in the countryside but if you like a bit of a going out and entertainment too, it's probably not the best choice."

"As soon as we arrived we just knew we were in for a gem of a week holiday. This was the case a perfect retreat whether you want quite tranquil break or visiting the nearby towns, it was great. Thanks to Cecile for being a wonderful host, al in all excellent."
