"It was a hurried booking and the price was more than reasonable, so I wasn't sure what to expect. What I got was a 1 bedroom room (I had booked a studio) with full kitchen, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner in the shower, sealed toothbrush & toothpaste packages in the bathroom. Sure the place has a bit of age on it but it was all in very clean. The beds were comfortable and the sheets had that fresh laundry smell."

"We had an enjoyable stay here. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The Bay of Islands is such a beautiful place. You need a car to stay here, because it is a 15 minute drive into the main township. I was a bit disappointed with the location because I expected it to be closer to the water than what it was, and what the photo suggested. This was minor though, because having a car obviousy made it easy to get to places."

"Great place to stay. Room was very spacious (esp. after dogbox in Auckland) clean and tidy. OK, it is not new, but everything was in working order and full stove, fridge and microwave, plus plenty of utensils, made cooking easy. They also have a small, but adequate, gym on site. We had to hole up here during Cyclone Gabrielle and it was fine for the three nights we stayed. Staff and owners were very helpful and chatty. Bonus was being able to watch T20 Womens World Cup on TV!"
