"We had a wonderful 5-night stay at the cottage over New Year. It is small and cosy and set in a small village overlooking fields and hills. The sunrise in the morning is beautiful. The kitchen has everything you could need to cook meals and there is a large Sainsbury's about 10 minutes drive away to stock up on provisions. The Herdwick Inn is a great local pub about 10 minutes walk away (take a torch if dark!) and 5 minutes drive away is a llama cafe and farm shop, Basecamp. The main hiking...

"We stayed for two nights over the weekend with our dog. Weather was fabulous. Managed a couple of long hikes. Aira Force and Keswick nearby. The cottage is lovely and has all the amenities we needed. Parking spaces right outside. Quaint and clean. Would recommend!"

"What a beautiful location and lovely little cottage. We were worried about the size of the bunk beds as we didn't realise they were not full size but my daughter and friend (5'11" and 5'9" found them very comfortable). The track up to the house was more of a problem. Glad our car has lots of clearance - a small car would not have managed those pot holes!"

"The house was everything we needed, opposite a pub and the swimming pool. The villagers were very friendly and helpfull, especially in the swimming pool. Unfortunately the internet stopped working on the third day but the rental company responded out of hours to help sort it out.."

The house is stunning, finished to a really high standard and the gardens are the same. The hosts were fantastic, great communication from start to finish and really friendly. Everything had been thought of, plenty to entertain adults and children of all ages. We hope to be back agai"

So close to the Lake District, easy to get to the hikes and lakes and cute little villages. Loved staying here and would definitely stay again when we come back. "
