Rare Beauty and Luxury at Kealakekua Bay

Relaxing and fun: we loved it.

"We loved it. The house is very comfortable with beautiful art and a super well equipped kitchen. Great communication by the hosts for all aspects of the renting process.You are close to snorkeling spots and beaches – the house provides all you need: chairs, a cooler and snorkel gear. We found most beaches had shade but umbrellas are there if you need them. Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park is close as well if you want to learn about ancient Hawaiian culture (and you do) We ate many mangos from the fruit orchard and one night heard wild pigs rooting eating dropped fruit. Plus birds and a beautiful view in the morning outside on the lanai.Next time we come we will book a longer stay!"

Off the beaten path paradise

"Hotel Pa’amalu is a rustic, beautiful place to stay and Kaimalu is a wonderful host. The spot is remote, allowing for a peaceful time to listen to birdsong and look out to the ocean view. The home itself is beautifully designed, as the open air flow from the ocean breeze was enough to keep us cool.,I cannot get over how this place was perfect for a relaxing getaway that’s off the beaten path. If you don’t mind the occasional gecko and you’re looking for a sign as to where to stay on the Big Island, this is it. "

"A perfect start to our Hawaii trip! After a long day of travel from the mainland, we arrived at Kona Palace and were warmly greeted by Rebecca. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. After a good night's sleep, we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast served on the lanai with amazingly beautiful views. Rebecca provided fresh fruit from her property (including fresh-squeezed orange juice), homemade granola, eggs, taro rolls, and more. After breakfast, coffee, and good conversation, we were on our way, but I would have loved to have stayed here longer. 5 stars!"

"Our cute yellow bedroom was adorable. We spent evening hours out on the lanai - Reading out on the lanai was so relaxing! Listening to all the nightly chirping was cool. Emma cooked wonderful breakfasts that started our days eating upstairs on their outdoor patio. Carl shared all the fruits around their home that Emma used. Location was great - we went to one beach 2.5 miles south and saw fish and a sea turtle. Snorkeled at step down beach - cool fish seen. We ventured 15 -25 min for evening meals. Note: downtown Kona parking charges $15/hr - we stayed for one hour to view all the artisans at their art show. Again great b& b - highly recommend!"
