Was initially concerned about the outside noise at night but was pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel was conveniently tucked away from all the noise on the main streets with all the nightlife. Everything is still super close and within a very short walking distance (5mins or less) though you have to deal with some hills here and there depending on where you want to go. "We stayed in two locations in Lisbon. Alfama area and here. Loved the area! Felt like I was staying among locals and not crowds of tourists. The hotel is on a quiet street. Walkable to restaurants and a pharmacy. Felt safe walking back at night. Building is old but well maintained. Staff was lovely. Free Breakfast was good. Loved having a place to enjoy afternoon coffee in the breakfast/ patio area to relax and get our second wind. "

We had 2 rooms - one room /apartment had a very large bathroom however the bathroom was really small in the other room the Superior Apartment. The shower was tiny in that bathroom. You may want to check on bathroom size in the room/apartment you choose. "

"This building was more than a century old! Many of the furnitures in the room are antiques too! The room is fine, othen than the fact the there is no private bathroom - 3 rooms share one in each of the two floors. The bathroom is in disrepair and the walls had water leak marks. Someone may not accept this as condition for hostal, but for a 100 yrs old building, can't argue much. Location is prime. "Very Unique property "inside" of a really fabulous restaurant. Great food and all the staff were very helpful (they even had takeaway breakfast for us at 4 am when we left for our flight! Great walkable location in Barrio Alto--the only drawback was the distance to parking and lots of stairs to get there. We will return! "

"A quaint little hotel of 8 rooms on the top floor of a commercial building. Rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. We were provided with a kettle in our room, but only decaf-coffee and sugar provided, no milk or whitener. On requesting normal coffee, we were given more decaf sachets... Breakfast was OK - the breakfast room is tiny and very cramped. No hot food at breakfast. The hotel was well situated, close to a metro station and very close to one of the best Christmas markets we found on...
