Mellisa the property manager goes above and beyond to make you comfortable and she remembers us every time, leaving a sweet note on our papers for us when we come in late. "The view is breathtaking! If wildlife is what you're after this is the place. Everything from the resident squirrel, hummingbirds, kingfishers, gulls working on swallowing starfish (no easy feat), eagles, lots of different marine birds, seals, river otter, sea lions galore catching dinner right out front, porpoise and a small pod of orca, however, the house does need some TLC."

"Older Motel across the street from the docking lot of Lake Cowichan. Decent view of the water from my room. Just a short walk down the road a plethora of eateries or bring your own food and prepare it in a wonderfully clean kitchenette with a mid-sized refrigerator. Just like anything older you could use some touch-up paint, maybe an extra pillow or two on the bed, and slightly thicker walls. The bathroom was very clean, and the water pressure terrific . All that being said, it is a jewel, especially at the offseason price of $94 a night."
