"The staff at the Boot and Shoe were lovely - they were friendly and helpful during our stay. The cooked breakfast was excellent. We had booked a table for dinner but unfortunately the table we’d been allocated wasn’t great so we dined elsewhere. The staff were really apologetic and gave us a complimentary round of drinks to make up for this. The room itself was fine. The bed was ok and the room was clean. "We had an amazing time. The food amazing in a gorgeous pub. The atmosphere and hospitality was fantastic everyone made us feel welcome very friendly especially the lovely Keith, what a legend! Loved listening to the stories & the history of the building he was brilliant! We paid £132 a night (Tuesday( for our room, there was a few minor problems, especially the volume of the music that we could hear while in our room played in the bar & we did also wonder if it was actually a Superior room,...

"We stayed here on a long weekend with the family and dogs - everything we could have asked for - good location with the Langdales just up the road (easy parking, pay and display), does packed lunches which were superb, very good evening food, good bar and lovely staff who were attentive, very friendly and helpful. Bus stop opposite to Ambleside and also up to the Langadales for those with no car"

"Arrived late afternoon. Reception was all ready for our arrival, so hassle free. Booked in for the evening meal and had some refreshments before viewing the room. Very happy with the room and really clean. Had our meal and were happy enough with all the food, very tasty. The bar lounge was comfortable and a decent drinks selection on other, an excellent whiskey selection was also available. The staff did ask if anyone required more drinks as they were closing the between 9pm and 10pm. I guess...
