"Leah and Toro are some of the nicest and down to earth people you’ll meet. The place is perfect and just what I was looking for. A great cafe is next door and down the street a stones throw away is a restaurant right on the beach with great food and drinks. It’s possible to stay here and never have to go anywhere else if your plan was to only surf. I’ll definitely stay here again!"

"I never wanted to leave! With the beautiful yard, the beach, the tide pools and Cheyo and his wonderful dogs, Sand Dollar Cove was heavenly! We wanted to stay somewhere away from the crowds where we could relax and enjoy the outdoors, and we did! The birds and howler monkeys were plentiful. Elizabeth and Jim were excellent hosts and quick to answer my questions. I’m already scheming to go back. Thank you so much, Elizabeth and Jim, for sharing your magical place."

"Located in the heart of Santa Teresa, this was a decent stop for a couple of nights. Bear in mind it is located directly off the main strip, so it is quite loud at all times. That being said, the property is extremely walkable with all amenities close by, and no 4x4 required to access unlike some of the other properties located up the hill. . "We were surprised at our room - this is a place we could live in. It has a beautiful view of the ocean and the tidal slough, it's quiet, it has a nice kitchen, and is laid out well. The restaurant was nice and the staff friendly. We had 2 pools to choose from, and took advantage of them every day. The grounds were very pretty and well-maintained. It was easy to get in and out and conventient to stores and sights in Puntarenas."

"We had a great stay at Akwa! Alexia and Eduardo were welcoming, kind and responsive. The villa was luxurious, with minimalist design, a full sliding door that transformed the space into shared indoor/outdoor space. The private plunge pool is a game changer! The driveway into the development is very steep, but this is typical of many accommodations in Santa Teresa. You can walk to the beach and back, just prepare yourself for a short but challenging climb back up! "

"This hotel was very cute. Well decorated and really homey. Great location as it’s right in the town center and seconds to the beach. The hotel restaurant was fabulous and staff so attentive. I would highly recommend it. Great price."

"Beautiful jungle retreat on the hill above Montezuma. Limited number of rooms, bright and airy. Clean, with mini fridge and a complete kitchen below an open air dining with a great ocean view patio where a nice breakfast was served daily. Laundry is available for a fee. Access is up a steep, potholed road just out of town. Turnoff to lodge is a narrow dirt with ample parking. A trail head leading to upper falls with swimming is right out the door. Staff is outstanding and the owner was from the State where I live. Some erosion control work was being done during our visit and only a minor distraction. Highly recommended if your in the Montezuma area."
