"Fantastic hotel with great views of Modica below. There is a pool and beautiful patios. Breafast was included and excellent. If you are in shape, you can walk down to the center in less than 10 minutes; the walk back up is a bit harder however bur we did it several times. Otherwise, you can use your car to drive into town in a few minutes."

" We had the most peaceful and enjoyable stay at Torre Don Virgilio. The resort is beautifully maintained, with stunning grounds that feature some of the most amazing olive trees we’ve ever seen. "Diego and his staff were lovely and extremely helpful. They provided all we needed for a comfortable stay with our baby. Our stay was relaxing, couldn’t ask for a better location,with an enchanting decor. A delicious breakfast served every morning! Would definitely return when we go back to Sicily. Thank you!"

"Upon arrival, the property appeared unkempt and tired. At check in we discovered the swimming pool was not Included in the fee and would cost another 30€ for one half day. At the pool terrace, we were removed by staff as our pool passes did not include sitting at poolside! We were sent to the “garden” area which was a weedy, garbage strewn area away from the pool. Our room was very, very dated and unmaintained, including several lights and the television not functioning, no air conditioning and dirty bathroom vanity. We were advised that the central air conditioning is controlled by the front desk and would be turned on, which it never was, or was set so high as to be useless. The internet was spotty and very slow. The mattress was old, lumpy and had a huge dip in the center, making for a terrible night’s sleep. All in all, absolutely our worst stay in Sicily."

"The property is accessible by a long, windy and very stony road and we had rented an SUV-type car which was perfect having read the reviews in advance of booking. The house is well located for driving out to places (Noto, Modica, Syracuse, beaches, etc). Giorgio and his family were very welcoming (a meal and food awaited us on our arrival). The house is well equipped, the beds were all comfortable, garden and swimming pool are very well maintained and the location is super-peaceful."

"Front desk staff was responsive. Restaurant food just ok. Pool area/garden and outdoor dining area nice. Approach from an industrialized setting in the modern (not old) Modica). Beds and pillows too hard. A/C never got cool enough on a hot (94F day). Needs better maintenance, dead plants on our balcony, carpet sometimes threadbare, some walls in our room needed painting,"
