"Waiting on their staff at check in and check out was far too long. They need to revise their system. Too many people doing nothing but waiting for the ONE person who could do it. The place itself is incredibly beautiful -- really. Great pool and great view."

"Hotel in the jungle with a rustic charm. Room was good with a comfortable bed. Lots of ants in the room initially but I suppose being in the jungle that’s to be expected! Restaurant food was plentiful and delicious. We stayed three nights and we didn’t get bored as there was a good varied choice -buffet or the a la cart menu-. Pool towels available and the attendant keeps the pool side nice a clean, especially with his endless battle with cleaning fallen leaves up. Bar staff were very friendly...

"Nice hotel. Super helpful staff. Our toddler enjoyed exploring the grounds. Restaurant served nice food. Rooms are a bit basic relative to the price. We were unfortunately visiting during Christmas, and the hotel organised a very loud party, which made it hard to sleep! Agreed to lower the volume after many requests "

"The staff were excellent and extraordinary welcoming. We are an elderly couple and the staff took care of us like we were their own children. The chief went out of his way to ask me what food I liked and cooked it especially just to make us feel welcome. That was not necessary but the warmth of the team made our holiday excellent. So clean and wonderful. "

"This is a beautiful and tranquil place to stay. The rooms are excellent, the food wonderful, the staff incredibly accommodating and the natural habitat in which the Other Corner is situated forms perfect backdrop gor wildlife including a birds. The resident wildlife and naturalist Dhilip is a fount of knowledge and made the stay even better. The organic garden and lake are also a bonus. "This was one of the most friendly hotels that we have stayed in for a long time. All of the staff seem to have a genuine interest in making sure that we had a good time and made the most of our stay in Sigiriya. They also organised a couple of trips for us - to Polonnarua and an elephant safari. The first of these was a fascinating day visiting a former capital of Sri Lanka and the second was an afternoon seeing more than a dozen different herds of elephants, some of them just a few metres away from us. Both of these trips were excellent value. However, what makes this place Extra Special is certainly the friendliess of the staff. And the home-cooked food is also of excellent quality. For such a warm welcome this place is very good value and highly recommend recommended"

"Beautiful hotel with breath taking views! The room, staff, and buffet were outstanding. I would recommend power outlets near the bed for best guest experience. Overall it was a memorable and perfect stay for us. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for relaxation and luxury! "

"Terrible conditions in the room. There were bugs, old towels and torn bed sheets. Did not have adequate hot water. Faucet controls were falling off. One of two air conditioners was not working. Pool was not usable, the water was cloudy. This property should be delisted from hotels.com. "
