"First time at a Pousada, though have stayed in Paradores in Spain. This is a very comfortable sprawling historic hotel with absolutely top-notch and genuinely friendly service, especially at meal times. Excellent food and lots of space inside the room and in common areas. The view over the city is lovely. Visitors need to know that it’s a pretty quick trip to the town and surrounding areas, but by no means a short walk. That makes this Pousada feel like a welcome getaway."

"The Hotel Suave Mar was a pleasant stop walking the Portuguese Camino. The room was clean and the bed is comfortable. In addotion, the included buffet breakfast was excellent."

"It was pleasant, but extremely basic! There were nothing to drink water with - not even throw away cups! The pilows were about 5 metres thick. As far as towels were concerned we had two bath towels and only one face towel. The rooms were clean. The breakast was more than expected and fresh and enjoyable. The breakfast area was modern with lovely touches, the design of the chairs surprisingly delightful. The location of the hotel was spot on!"
