"This place is centrally located right in the heart of anime in ikebukuro which we like. Overall the room is dated and the bed is soft. The lights in the room are rather dim. The washroom is standard but a deeper tub and greater amenities inside with lotion, face oil, face wash, cleanser, and your standard body wash, conditioner and shampoo. Overall the two day stay was good for what we paid. Second time was great, staff at front desk spoke fluent English and was easy to understand."

"A new and safe hotel. Direct access from the station.　There are no steps in the bathroom. The basic makeup kit was very helpful. The staff were very kind. The breakfast was delicious and beautiful. It was served until 10am so there was no stress. I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity. Thank you. "

"Have stayed at the Metropolitan quite a few times. It is a very reliably good place to stay. They have a lot of room amenities (I cannot remember them all from our stay last month but I recall being impressed). It is close to the subway lines. There have a lot of staff in the lobby to help visitors. Ikebukuro has a lively vibe and lots of restaurants and department stores. "

"Loving my stay here at Akabaneholic! This is the first time I’m staying here and the 2nd hotel I’m staying at since returning to Japan. It’s clean and safe, and it has a sleek modern design. The first couple nights I stayed in a Double room (with a queen size bed), and my 3rd night is in the Superior Hollywood Twin room (which has 2 twin beds & is a bit more spacious). The breakfast buffet has a great selection, and I love the onsen. Also, they have complimentary Ochazuke time and afternoon tea Monday-Thursday, which is amazing! The staff is friendly and helpful. It’s close to the JR station, which is convenient."

"This hotel was amazing I originally planned to stay in shinjuku and I am so glad I ended up staying here in ikebukuro. the hotel is tucked away from all the foot traffic but a 2 minute walk and you’re ready to join the action and get the day going. staff was amazing and friendly and hotel was super clean. also heated toilet seat was great too (; "
