"I had an amazing stay! The apartment was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The view from the terrace was absolutely breathtaking. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was the two toucans that visited us in the morning. They were flying around, perching on the trees, and watching us while we relaxed on the terrace. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and unique getaway! "

"Nice, tranquil hotel. Centrally located, in walkable distance to the beach, restaurants and Manual Antonio Park. Very quite and safe even though it is located right off the main road. Very friendly and helpful staff. One caveat is parking. Very tight and impossible to accommodate a large SUV"

"Our room was filthy. We got there and keys under mat. Although the owner was in 1 of 4 apts he never told us about housekeeping (there was none) or trash or hoe to operate the outsode washer. He juat said hi. We had to ask for a garbage bag. We were there 7 days and wont do that again. No where to eat unless you take a bus. It was NOT a few minutes walk from beach or anything. The bed uncomfortable and towels stunk. Never again. "

"The Falls was great. The staff were all amazing, friendly, and helpful. Location was close to many restaurants. Breakfast was great at the resort and all other food was wonderful. Happy hour drinks we enjoyed. Daily housekeeping. Pool was relaxing."

"Our main interest was the NP Manuel Antonio and seeing wildlife. La Posada is right at the entrance of the park. It has wildlife that visits the property too. Our room was nice and cool. Staff was very helpful. We would stay again. Adjoining is Rocco's seving very tasty pizza."

We were at the end of our Panama/Costa Rica trip and had actually just decided to cut it short because I was starting to feel sick. But we had this last hike to try out and I was just hoping both that I would feel well enough and also that our car would be able to make it back on the very steep gravel road back from the parking spot (after almost getting stuck around Monteverde earlier on the trip). As we’ve been getting used to we were first to arrive so we had this awesome place completely to ourselves for a little while in the morning before other tourists started to drop in. It really felt like a fairytale.

Thoughtful Details

"Our family of five stayed here, but the house could easily accommodate 2-3 families comfortably. After excellent communication from both the owner and property manager, we were promptly greeted by the property manager, Elizabeth, upon our arrival. We appreciated how she took appropriate time to show us the necessities but was courteous of our privacy and left immediately after the brief (but thorough) tour. The photos of this place do not do it justice. It’s stunning with every detail thought of… from the pool towels to the beach towels, body boards to borrow, books, board games, laundry access, a thoughtful gift of sun products …I can’t even list all of the things. The well appointed kitchen was stocked with snacks and even pasta/sauce so we decided to whip up our own little dinner the first night after enjoying the pristine (almost private it would seem) beach. By far, the best beach we visited during our entire trip. We hope to stay here again should we make it back to the area. "

"This property is spectacular! The views are out of this world! The host was so prompt and amazing to communicate with! It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere jungle but amazing restaurants, waterfalls, hikes, beaches and groceries are all with in a 20 minute drive! Lots of space. Stocked kitchen. Our kids couldn't believe we were actually staying at a place that cool. Our own infinity pool AND a pickle ball court! It's like something you see in the movies! "

Paradise!

"Wow!!! We were so happy with our week long stay at this gorgeous home in Costa Rica. Our family of 8, Nana included, had plenty of space to lounge in the hammocks, swim in the picturesque pool, read and nap outdoors, and practice yoga with the best view! The views were breathtaking! Every bedroom has its own bath, which worked well for our group. Without hesitation I recommend going “all inclusive” and enjoying an amazing chef (Rambo and team), a driver to and from all the excursions and airport, and daily cleaning. Even my teenagers were up early for Rambo’s breakfasts! We were spoiled in the best way and we all thought how incredible the whole experience was-a true vacation! "

Your own house in the jungle, 5 minutes from the beach!

Amazing place

"Five of us stayed for five nights. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. The home owner supplied us with detailed instructions to get to the house and the property manager was quick to answer all of our questions.It really is a nice secluded property but close to everything we needed. Would stay again. Also, we awoke every morning to the sound of toucans in the trees."

"We greatly enjoyed this property. The natural environment is gorgeous. I would recommend for anyone seeking a quiet place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. We heard the howler monkeys, visited by white face capuchins, entertained by a friendly coati and spent time identifying many different birds. I was nervous about the driveway from the reviews. Don’t let that hinder you. It is totally doable! The fresh fruit was a welcome touch. "

Even better than expected!

"The house is absolutely beautiful. The view of the ocean is amazing. We really felt like we had a private villa on a private beach. We were a big group. 10 adults and 3 children. Each little family had their own room and connected bathroom. The pool area and kitchen brought everyone together while the rooms gave us our space and privacy at night. We loved being steps from the beach and enjoyed the best sunsets every night. We saw iguanas, sloths, macaws and butterflies during our stay. Jackson, who takes care of the outside property, cut us down some coconuts which was an extra treat. We highly recommend this home and would stay here again! "

Gorgeous sunsets at brand new Casa Arbol DelMar

Excellent stay in Paradise

"My husband and I just spent 28 glorious days at this property. This is our 7th trip to this area and our favorite stay so far. The casita / guest house is new, clean and very well stocked with everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable, there is also A/C if you choose, and the WIFI/Internet was strong. The location is only a short drive (maybe 5 minutes?) up the mountain from the highway. A 4 x 4 is a must. It is also a short drive to Playa Matapalo and Playa Linda. I would say the location is top notch. The exterior of the property is an experience in aromatheraply with all its wonderful plants and flowers. And although this is a guest house, with the owner residing in the main house, we had the pool to ourselves every day with great privacy (Gelena, the owner, insisted on this). And it was a bonus to have Gelena on site as she was very responsive to all our questions and provided excellent information about surrounding markets, amenities etc. The location is very safe and the bonus was having monkeys visit us frequently, as well as toucans and parrots. Highly recommend this property. "

Didn’t want to leave - wonderful getaway

"We were rewarded for enduring the long drive from San Jose airport to Portalon with this beautiful vacation spot. Kids arrived with jaws dropped, the outdoor kitchen & dining area was spacious next to the pool. View of the ocean and watching the tropical rain squalls pass over - stunning. A perfect getaway. Kitchen stocked with ample equipment to cook, small salt shaker, no other spices. Scant containers to hold leftovers, but that was not a priority. Definitely need 4wd to get up to the house, but so worth it. WiFi was quite reliable, no issues. Matapalo beach within minutes of the house by car, everyone with Portasol super helpful & kind. Our stay exemplified “PuraVuda”. We defnitely hope to return someday!! Gracias a todos. If u stay at this spot, book zip line tour thru Portasol team with El Sanctuario - worth it. "
