We discovered this serene little beach last month. After turning off the highway there is a 2 mile drive over rocky unpaved terrain, but if you take it slow any kind of car should be able to traverse it. Our compact rental car did great. There is a parking area, and then a trail through the lava fields to the beach (less than a ten minute walk). There’s plenty of tree cover providing natural shade if you don’t feel like taking an umbrella. We saw dozens of turtles bobbing around in the water and the rocky bay provides great snorkeling opportunities. In our 4 days on the big island this was by far my favorite beach #lifeatexpedia

Five Stars for our Babymoon

"Our first visit to Kona Village for our babymoon and it far exceeded our expectations. Gracious check-in with the bonus of our room being available early and upgraded. Personal touches for our special trip - baby bump pillow for sleeping, little gifts, regular acknowledgement of our celebration. The hotel itself is stunning. Never felt crowded, even during Easter weekend. The hales (single building accommodation) are private, quiet, and chicly appointed. They do a great job at adding little complimentary elements to the trip - Friday afternoon pizza pop up on their garden, golden hour wine and cheese, coconuts by the pool on Saturday etc. Highly recommend Paniolo Night on a Thursday - ticket includes huge spread of raw, barbecued, shaken and poured. Plus some authentic Hawaiian cowboy entertainment. We are already anticipating a return to Kona Village, where we know we will enjoy it just as much with a baby as on our own. I have my eye on their praised sushi night at the shipwreck bar. "

"Traveling with my family for a wedding. From pre-booking until checkout host Janie was easy to work with. We didn’t experience any issues during our stay. The house is perfectly located with short drive times into town and to the beaches. Most conveniently being close to the airport. Being from Hawaii this house brought me home again. The view of the ocean and sunset is amazing! The kids enjoyed the pool and the ability to have a good time in a safe space. I would highly recommend this place for families wanting to experience Hawaii or wanting to return home for a visit. This home has everything we needed to be comfortable. An incredible home with beautiful views

"We were very impressed with this incredible home. It had everything our family of three needed, from a very well appointed kitchen to space to spread out to a great pool and hot tub.The neighborhood was quiet and we felt secluded on a mountainside with a view of the ocean. We watched the sunrise enjoying the sounds of nature and watched the sunset from the hot tub. The home is close to several grocery stores and downtown Kona, and it was easy to zip to other places on the island to explore.The home is well decorated, comfortable and clean.Thank you for an incredible place to call home during our trip!"
