"My husband and I live in Fortuna, about 35 miles north of this cottage. We wanted a getaway close by because we only have one day off together a week but we wanted a nice, romantic place to celebrate our four year wedding anniversary. The Cottage was affordable and very pretty in the pictures and I would have been so happy with the basics but the host went above and beyond filling the place with amenities and details to make the stay amazing. There was really good quality coffee, tea and everything you need, a fully stocked kitchen so no need to bring anything pots or pans or anything like that.there was even picnic dishes to take to the picnic area and a blender, veggie slicer and all that. There was even food in the cabinets and freezer. We brought our own but I just thought it was so nice of the host to include. Also wifi, Netflix, an electric fireplace in the tv stand, there are two balconies with pretty lights. My husband and I had a lovely dinner under the stars and redwoods at the patio table on the deck! I'm already planning on booking again when my parents come to visit, I know my mom will be obsessed with the decor like I am. This was my first time using VRBO and I was super impressed! I highly recommend this place!Also the host was helpful and gave stellar directions, GPS isn't very reliable as the cell service is spotty on the drive BUT I had full service at the property!"

"Five of us were signed up to do the Humboldt 1/2 marathon and 5k. We were so happy to find a house with 2 bathrooms as most listings in the area showed only one. We are an adventurous group and didn’t mind the trek to the house in the dark. For those less bold arrival in daylight might be recommended . All in all we found the house was well suited for our needs. The wrap around deck was amazing. We found lots to do in the area and had a great dinner at the Benbow Inn. We would have liked having a microwave in the kitchen and maybe a small Mr Coffee or Keurig with just a small amount of coffee to for that first morning after arrival. Just a thought from all of us caffeine addicts. One other suggestion regarding the TV. For us less than savvy TV people a short basic set of directions for accessing local Tv and how to switch into streaming. If there isn’t local cable just a quick note indicating such. All in all the house was terrific and we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you "
