"Lovely Victorian hotel in great location with a steep history. Unfortunately the hotel seems to be in a time warp and not in touch with modern day competition with regards to room quality tv, bed, furnishings. The dining options were extremely close windowed and not flexible. Breakfast was really poor quality with limited choice with many expected food items not bailable or offered. It seemed to be more in line with a seaside bed and breakfast offering rather than what appeared to be a 4 star hotel. We don't regret staying at The Metropole. Just that we were a little disappointed "

The attention to detail in our room was impeccable and there was nothing that the staff wouldn't do for you. For a relaxing break away from the norm I can not recommend this place highly enough.
