"The hotel was excellent as was the room, staff, food and facilities. The breakfast choices were particularly good. We stayed mid week and the area was quiet but I don’t knowhow the area would be at weekends"

"Lovely hotel in a great location for York racecourse and a short taxi ride into the city centre (or 30 min walk). Rooms are very well appointed although the bathroom could be upgraded with dual flush toilet etc. Bed was very comfortable and noise was at a minimum. Staff are helpful and friendly. We like that the pool was open till 11pm"

"Lovely room in the lodge, large, nice decor but some unfinished work (shower fixation loose, some painting needed) but particularly extremely noisy, the room is just in front the generator which is very noisy and all night. Some work on the window to isolate would be good."

"We choose this hotel because it was close to the racecourse to do the park run . This isn’t our first time staying here we opted for premium room this time which was a lot bigger with a comfy big bed perfect for the purposes of our stay "

"I was very disappointed when I saw the pool - it's about 8m long; the photo makes it look a lot bigger. There are no showers in the changing room (other than a disabled toilet/shower) which means you have to get dry to return to your room to take a shower and wash your hair! Some of the chairs in the reception area were badly stained and the carpet in our bedroom was also stained. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choice and the staff were all really friendly.
