"Overall we (group of 7 adults) had a great weekend stay at Eagle's Rest. The location is good as it's in a nice neighborhood, but you still feel kind of secluded, and it's located nicely between Boone and West Jefferson. The great room and kitchen area is laid out really well for a group since it's nice and open, with plenty of seating. "Wonderful! This property was at the end of the lake so we had almost no boat traffic. Since you face a national forest, the view was superb. The pontoon we rented was fun and the dock was perfect for relaxing. It was very private and had everything needed to cook and hang out. The back deck is fenced in so perfect for our dog. He enjoyed his vacation with us and was sad to leave. "

"The home is a decent distance off the highway but the scenery you'll see while driving to it are gorgeous. On the first day, we saw 3 deer and 2 rabbits! The driveway is very steep and made of gravel, so keep that in mind when choosing what vehicle to bring. If it has been raining, your tires may slip a bit going up. "We went to that area to ride the Virginia creeper Trail bike trail. The location was perfect. The house was spotless and provided an excellent lodging option for four adults. We would definitely rent this place again."
