"Room was good, although the view of room 11 was blocked by a large tree. The balcony down the corridor had a great view across to Edinburgh. Dinner menu sounds great online but was nothing special (seemed like cooked frozen fish & chips), although service was good. Breakfast service was chaotic and felt penny pinching, eg one had to ask for a yoghurt. I chose the vegetarian elements of the Scottish breakfast and just got 1/2 tomato, 1 poached egg and a few withered mushrooms with 1 slice of GF...

"The property is a bit old but clean and economical. Free breakfast is a plus. The things I did not like were: the shared toilet located across the room even though I booked an ensuite one - called and messaged the owner but no response; only 1 hanger available for our jackets, and the motion-activated light in the toilet automatically shuts off so I was having a shower in the dark lol"
