"When we arrived at the hotel it had closed down four weeks previously. A notice on the door informed us to which hotel we had been transferred. This was difficult to access as the hotel next to The Chevalier( our new destination) was still under construction. There was no drop off point for luggage and my husband had to carry all bags from a car park about 7 minutes walk away. We were greeted by black billowing smoke. "l'Amphitheatre hotel provided an acceptable place to stay for 2 nights in Nimes. The price was fair and affordable. The location was very good for pedestrian access to Nimes attractions, dining and shopping. Our room overlooked a charming retail square but it was bit noisy as restaurants cleaned up at closing and with some early morning garbage pick-up. There was no elevator but the hotel did possess some amount of charm."
