"Short Stories is a cute renovated motel. We stayed in a Jr King Suite- but the room was an average hotel room size. The beds are great and it’s got a nice shower. Quality of towels were pretty poor- like gym towels, thin scratchy and small. The front desk staff was pretty apathetic. The bartender and waiters were friendly and attentive. Nice location across the street from the Grove and The farmers market. We rented a car an in and out with the valet was quick and convenient."

"The area is highly affordable, good neighborhood near nice houses ,providing secure parking in a gated location, offering peace of mind for vehicle safety. The room was clean and equipped with a heater, air conditioning, and a small mini fridge. Guests can access amenities on the first floor such as microwaves, an ice machine, and a snack machine. Overall, I felt safe both while sleeping and when leaving my car parked . "

"Decent place for the price. The shower door didn’t have a handle in room 102. The wi-fi did not work the whole week I was there. The cleaning lady was friendly and professional. But room didn’t have a “Do not disturb” sign. Overall, I would stay here again if I had to. "

"The location and staff are excellent. However, as others have reported, the rooms are not very soundproof. While sitting in my room, I could hear other guests’ conversations and was woken up in the middle of the night by sounds in another room (and I sleep with a white noise maker). Parking is very tight. "This seemed at first like a just decent, although pretty basic, hotel to stay at while I was in LA for a show. But the staff here were absolutely amazing! Incredibly helpful and kind, going above and beyond. I rarely leave reviews but I wanted to give them a boost for the staff alone. Bridget in particular and the lady at the desk the night I arrived were really wonderful."
