It was advertised that there was a restaurant and even on a chalkboard outside, there were daily specials written but we were told there was no food for purchase. This was a challenge given the remote location of the hostel and that restaurants closed very early. We did find a grocery store that closed at 7pm. "Good place for stay overnight if riding Shimanami Kaido over two days. Don't miss the set menu dinners at their cafe. You get an appetizer (more like three), a salad, a soup, a main dish with rice and a dessert for under 2000 yen, and the meal was excellent. "

"I can only comment on customer service as the recent Typhoon prevented us from traveling. They really take their no cancellation policy seriously and will not even give you a refund in the case of a natural disaster preventing you from traveling. Extremely unimpressed by this place and would not recommend booking with them. Took them 5 days to even respond to my cancellation request."
