Gaya Island Resort

5.0 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (446)
"We were a group of nature lovers who were using this as a three night stay to get used to the temperature and time change upon arrival in Borneo. Loved the grounds and snorkeling right from the beach. Fantastic nature center staffed by several biologists. The food options were a bit pricey but we were expecting that. The grounds were very birdy and we found two Borean Pit Vipers. The mangrove tour was fantastic. Room is very good quality for the price."

The timing of the scheduled activities can be a bit hit and miss but they make them available if you want them. Poolside is very relaxing. The spa treatments are wonderful with Amy but make sure you try and book them in advance. Lovely breakfasts and menu in general. A great...

The Jesselton Hotel

3.5 star property
8.4 out of 10, Very Good, (458)
"It is the most historical hotel in KK. Our suite room is still well maintained. It is roomy and decent. It's location is the best - right at the Gaya Street Market. There area a lot of dining options within walking distance. The only thing we wished it could be improved is the lack of flexible shower head as it is fixed at a very high position; otherwise, it is perfect, especially considering the affordable price. "
