"Lone pine is a nice place to stay for a quiet vacation, some extra pool chairs wouldn’t go astray… the room had a very mouldy smell due to humidity and constant air conditioning and they tried to help with a different room but they were all the same - they could try cleaning the air con filters… breaky was good, staff were nice but limited English… they had lots of meetings and a wedding while we were there which was a slight inconvenience but, when you pay for a boutique hotel you expect a bit...

"The place was incredibly cozy. The owners are amazing - give you a map that shows all the local places when you check in. They even lent me a bamboo mat for the beach! The place is also spotless - they take great care of it. Air conditioning and TV both worked very well. "The hotel has a 3 bedroom apartment with 3 bathrooms which is a rare find. The apartment is tastefully decorated and has an amazing view of the ocean. Whilst it has a dining table for 6, there is no kitchenette except for a bar fridge & tea/coffee and kettle in the master bedroom. Downside is that it gets quite noisy at night from the beach bar next door. In addition, the breakfast buffet spread isn't great in terms of choice and taste. Also worth noting that the spa has been closed for years."

Probably the best hotel we’ve stayed in!

"Wonderful hotel beautiful room and housekeeping excellent. We were upgraded to a room that allowed drinks and canapés in the Cornwallis lounge. Fantastic location walking distance to the street art and Chew Jetty. Buffet in the evening is excellent value and the breakfast amazing. Staff also wonderful cannot fault this!"

"The staff was courteous and helpful. Their service was superb and friendly. Once we asked for extra towels and we forgot to disable the do-not-disturb switch. Then I suddenly realized that and looked out the peek hole, and was astonished to find the room service staff standing patiently waiting for me. I was very apologetic and very grateful for their dedication. The view from our room was excellent. The only setback from our experience was the parking: (1) we had to go to the reception to validate the parking pass every time we were leaving the parking garage. Sometimes there was a line at the reception and we had to wait for other guests to check in to the hotel before the staff could validate our parking pass. That wasn't a good way to get out of the garage, and a problem if you are on a time crunch. (2) If you park in the multistorey garage instead of the basement, you will have to drive up the multilevel spiral ramp untill you get to the top floor to park. You just go round and round nonstop until you reach the top. The spiral ramp is not very wide so we were worried about scratching our vehicle going up or down the ramp. In general, it was a pretty good hotel and we appreciated the space in our room and the washer/dryer that were inside the room. We would stay here again despite the parking inconvenience that was described above."
