"Arrived at 8 pm and they said they didn’t have our booking and were full. Eventually they found a room which then needed to be cleaned etc. the fan was hanging off the ceiling and not safe to be used. "

"An oasis off the main beach road that allowed me time to adjust after a late night arrival. Had full breakfast (additional charge) to start the day - well presented and ample. AC, hot water, tv and access to nearby restaurants and of course the beach. "

We booked the room for 2 nights to ensure that it would be ready when we got there and we would not have to wait for a check in time. Planned to check out around 11 PM The that day for our flight. "Lovely hosts giving you a truely personal experience. Access to next hotel's pool is a nice touch. The room layout was odd but they will be undergoing renovation soon so hopefully reworking the internal layout. Otherwise clean and tidy and nice view of the garden to the beach. Be aware of beach salesmen. Would recommend this hotel."

"Very friendly owners, arrived at night there was heavy rain but got picked up from the airport promptly. Because of the weather event I couldn’t go out for dinner so they offered to prepare something to eat for me. The room is basic but clean and for the price excellent value. "

"We walked in an apartment with dust and dirt on the floor, mould behind toilet door, mould on kitchen glass tray. They said this apartment was closed for some time. Housekeeping staff should be trained to check on details. Would not recommend for families who are particular about cleanliness. The management needs to take feedback seriously without giving excuses for lapses."

"We had a lovely room at Mandarina with a small balcony overlooking the houses and gardens. Really nice watching the sunrise and lots of different birds flying around. Breakfast was very good and they had lots of vegetarian options. Special mention to Upekha at the front desk who is an absolute star. She understood our needs perfectly and is very efficient. Overalll location is good, not far from the main sites and malls. "

Colonial Lanka at it's finest!

"The best welcome to Sri Lanka is to walk through the doors of Galle Face hotel. To be greeting by the concierge who has been there for over 50 years. The rooms are charming and you feel like you are in bygone era. The breakfast buffet is simply divine - especially when you get to enjoy it on the greatest verandah in Colombo. We cannot wait to come back and enjoy!"
