"Very friendly owners, arrived at night there was heavy rain but got picked up from the airport promptly. Because of the weather event I couldn’t go out for dinner so they offered to prepare something to eat for me. The room is basic but clean and for the price excellent value. "

"I arrived at the hotel at around 5 am and the owner kindly let me check in at that time (I had paid for the previous night) so didn't have to hang out at the airport forever after an extremely long trip to Sri Lanka which I had read was an issue at other hotels. Breakfast was fantastic. Rooms were very basic but clean. There was tea and coffee in the room but no heating kettle, so you couldn't actually make coffee even though instant coffee was sitting there was there which was a bummer. ...

"Lovely hosts giving you a truely personal experience. Access to next hotel's pool is a nice touch. The room layout was odd but they will be undergoing renovation soon so hopefully reworking the internal layout. Otherwise clean and tidy and nice view of the garden to the beach. Be aware of beach salesmen. Would recommend this hotel."

"We could not have dreamt of a better place to start our Sri Lanka trip. The place is beautiful, nested among trees at the end of a road and along the river. Our room was brand new, comfortable and colorful. The bathroom was open to the exterior giving you the impression of showering outdoor, while the Air conditioning inside keeps you cool. "Stayed 2 Nights. 1/27-28 Had a long layover in Columbo On the 28th which started at noon. We booked the room for 2 nights to ensure that it would be ready when we got there and we would not have to wait for a check in time. Planned to check out around 11 PM The that day for our flight. "Convenient for Fort Railway Station less than 10 minutes by taxi. Dining options in the hotel weren’t great for us for lunch and dinner with limited vegetarian options but breakfast was outstanding. Lovely location close to the seafront and short tuk tuk to the temple. Staff were friendly and helpful."

"Very impressive Hotel with lots of facilities. The meals were exceptional with the breakfast and dinner buffet both providing a very wide range of dishes to suit anyone. The rooms were very comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious with nice hot shower. The bed was also large and very comfortable. Marino Beach is definitely highly recommended for the facilities the great food and the very helpful staff. It’s also attached to a mall so shopping and ATM machines very close by. We also enjoyed the free city tour and think that the hotel offers very good value and excellent quality."

"We stayed for two nights. ALL of the staff are BRILLIANT and looked after us really well. The room was spacious and the rain-shower incredible… probably the best I’ve had. The on-site Indian restaurant was excellent as was breakfast. Easy to walk around the area and just 5 minutes to Park Street for loads of good dining options. Wholeheartedly recommend Taj Samudra. Thank you."

"Very friendly and professional staff, attentive and respectful. It was my birthday and they sent cup cakes upto our room, a lovely touch. Breakfast was fantastic Bedroom was stunning, Overlooking the sea. Clean and with a very comfortable bed. Thankyou Cinnamon Red, we'll be back.😁"
