An old-school gem in the heart of the Castro

"Beck’s is a very well-run, old school motel and I mean that as a compliment. Yes, your view will likely be of the parking lot and the walls are a little thin, but it is beautifully maintained, the rooms are configured for maximum functionality, the staff are welcoming and helpful, and the shower is spectacular. The location is central and very convenient to so much of what San Francisco has to offer, and the rates are reasonable. Plus, the recently opened Epicurean Trader right next store is a great source for espresso drinks, pastries, drinks and snacks. I will definitely be staying ant Beck’s again."

The Westin St. Francis San Francisco on Union Square

"Great location as it was in union square, the staff was very helpful. It was just sad that there was a strike outside the hotel during our whole stay, I hope they get their needs met soon. When it comes to the room it was pretty tight, when we checked in we had to call front desk to get the towels changed coz there were make up stains in the towels, and then the shower’s glass door looks like it was not cleaned, full of gunk and watermark. The glass door actually doesnt stay shut, so we had to use a hair tie to keep it closed. There was a notepad but no pen. Very comfortable bed and pillows tho. They were very nice to send us microwave in our room coz my sister needed to heat up her food since she has dietary restrictions and cant just eat anywhere and anything. I really appreciated that. And the hotel feels safe once you're inside. Overall, front desk staff and concierge is amazing, I cant say the same for housekeeping. Room needs some updating/fixing. Overall this place itself is okay. You can definitely do better for less. "

"Ikay everything was on s ale 1-10. This stat was a 9. But what nakes me feel welcome is tne front desk lady. She really nice and love her smile, everytime she looks or talks to me i get goosebumps, i want to ask her for her number, besides being shy i try keep it professional, but for the record if she does reads tnis i like take u out to eat and maybe the hot tubs. "
