"I love boutique hotels and Leyenda is no exception. The grounds are quite beautiful. They greeted us with a welcome drink! We stayed for 3 nights total, family of 5. We had the superior 2 bedroom and the room was good but we did add an extra room after our first night for more space and another bathroom (my fault for thinking the 3 beds/1 bath would be sufficient with two teens). We enjoyed the big pool! Wished it was a bit cooler to be a refresh from the heat, or that a part of the pool had some shade (never thought I’d say that!) We ate 3 dinners here and each dinner was AMAZING! I can not recommend their dinners enough. Warning: the portions are HUGE and very shareable. Unfortunately, the complimentary breakfast buffet was not as good as their dinner. However, the made to order cappuccinos were lovely. We took the shuttle to the beach one day and I highly recommend Playa Carillo as it was the best beach we visited in Costa Rica. Just stunning! The next day we drove our rental car to the beach and back. Overall, I would return here again. For the price, the location and amenities are a great deal. PS. The Asiatic restaurant is not open, which we were looking forward to. Luckily that main restaurant had a large variety and incredible food."

"I just returned from my second visit to Sendero, and it truly feels like home. The design of the hotel is stunning, and the staff is absolutely exceptional. They take the time to get to know you, remember you, and make you feel like part of the family. The restaurant is a standout, offering the most delicious menu I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. The pool is a serene retreat, the perfect spot to unwind with a good book after a day of surfing. The yoga and surf instructors, especially Lauren and Rodrigo, have made each of my visits unforgettable. I can't recommend Sendero enough – it's an experience that I will continue to cherish and share with others."

"Excellent and relaxing. If you like an authentic, quiet and quaint secluded beach resort vacation in Costa Rica, feeling as if you owned a piece of Costa Rica all to your self, this resort would not disappoint you. Very close to the town to where you can walk thru the beach which takes only 15 mins. There is an excursion desk that helps organize daily activities for staying guests. We took the 3 hours horse ride and a separate coffee tour on alternative days during our stay, which are very enjoyable. The food and service at the resort are also nice. "
