"This property surprised me as I’d been stuck in Hakone due to the typhoon so dediced to move to odawara station so I was closer to the action - and easier to leave the area when I could. I stayed for one night - it is a little confusing to get to the hotel, but follow the instructions to the letter and you will get there. If in doubt, read it again - because it’s quite clear when you take the time to read it! Id done meticulous research in trying to find larger rooms in Japan, this was a hotel...

"The owner is not kind or friendly, I had to wait in rain around 40 minutes before a kind neighbor arrived and helped, no bed is ok but tatami and everything is short, I’m 5’8 only and I had to try sleeping in half moon position, no bathroom attached bed room, at night time you have to go down into a very steep stairs which is dangerous, no taxi can enter the premise and will not come to get you. "

"This hotel was excellent - fantastic and helpful service, very clean both in the rooms and in the common areas, great food, serene atmosphere, and generously sized rooms. Our room had a balcony with a private onsen, which was absolutely worth the splurge. The view was beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised by how comfy the futons were when we slept. The location was convenient to the bus lines but still so peaceful and quiet. 10/10 stars, without hesitation. I would love to come back!"

The host left a very helpful instructional booklet describing how to use all of the amenities, and even instructions on how to best prepare the food.
