"Lovely hotel right beside the train station. Short walk into town. Very comfortable bed would stay here again. If you like a bath request when booking I had a shower but others had beautiful roll top baths."

"Great old style hotel. Wonderful breakfast rooms, welcoming with amazing Christmas decorations. Large comfortable room, seating area , large shower all spotlessly clean. Would stay again "

"Good value for money. Pretty decent room. Extra points for the tiny fridge. Only negative I found was the shower. Water temperature fluctuated and the showerhead itself was the fixed-on-the-wall kind which I don't prefer for better hygiene."

"Visited for one night and we were both very impressed for the price. The staff were all friendly, the room was nice and clean. We stayed DB&B and the breakfast was lovely from the buffet. The evening meal was at The Fat Abbot and this was also really good. Following the meal we sat in the bar at the hotel and ennjoyed a drink in front of the open fire. Liked it that much we are having another night next week."

We loved Patrick, he checked us in so smoothly, giving us a wealth of information, advice and so much care and compassion. We love the whole building, the communal areas are so carefully thought out, designed to support your needs, gifting you space to relax and spend quality time. Our room was just lovely, we had everything we could need. The lovely communal areas and the kitchen dining area is fabulous, so much so that we have already secured our next visit and stay, and we can't wait to get there. "Great weekend. Service was gold standard, staff made us feel welcome and special. Used the valet service for parking and found it the perfect t option for us especially as it was so busy in York due to the Xmas markets. Already booked again for Christmas. "
