"The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the communication was excellent. The only complaint is that we had reserved a cozy room (spruce) with a fireplace and a sofa, and because there was some construction planned, the night staff put us in a room (#208) which was fine, but a bit stark compared to what we had booked - no sofa or fireplace. "This cute little hotel is located very close to the Chinatown gates, bus stops, restaurants. There is a little market up the road for some groceries and cold wine/beer. The pub next door has good food. It is an older building with a narrow winding staircase, but it does have an elevator. It does not have that old building smell, though! The room is spacious with large openable windows (no A/C). The sofabed in this suite is incredibly uncomfortable and needs replacing. Fortunately I only had to...

"This was our second visit to this property. Wonderful amenities and great location in relation to downtown Napa and the Napa Valley wineries. We will not hesitate in booking this property again when returning to Napa."

"Our stay at the cottage was wonderful! Everything we needed was there and so easy to get to other parts of Oakland from the cottage. Host was very responsive and answered all our questions promptly. Just slightly awkward placement of the living room TV, but we didn’t end up using it anyway."

"We enjoyed our stay. The cottage was well-appointed, with a large kitchen and everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was a blessing since we visited during an extreme heat wave. Lovely yard and driveway parking. Great communication from the hosts. The best part was that it was just steps from downtown Benicia which is a wonderful place to walk, sightsee, shop, and dine. "

"Cute little tiny home. Very modern and clean. However it was very cold with only one split AC/heater unit to heat the whole place. Perhaps some additional space heaters for each room would help ALOT. They provided cute slippers but they were dirty and used. Otherwise very nicely done and would come back again."

"The young lady at the front desk seemed miserable and unapproachable. Luis, was great! He worked the breakfast shift on Christmas Eve. The suite I stayed in was very dated. The suite was not cleaned upon my arrival. Arm chair, sofa and coffee table was stained, dirty and old. I had to buy 3 Glade air fresheners to get rid of old smells. I did have a good time here but that front desk worker as I mentioned above was not helpful and needs to be retrained . "

"We took a family trip to Napa to visit our oldest son and spend some time in the valley. There was no doubt that we were going to stay in the damar house again and it was perfect just like the last time. Beautiful home, perfect location, and great host. Highly recommended."
