It was superbly located for Battle and lots of other brilliant half term activities such as Bewl Water, Bedgebury or Herstmonceux science museum. "The whole family loved the pool and enjoyed the tennis court. Using the cottages for 4 people means that 2 people in the attic look down on the 2 below. The Wi-Fi in Oast did not work. We said this but it was not made good as promised. (This is trivial) The family loved it and would book again. The online listing did not say how good the pool is."

Cottage was warm and cosy and everything you could possibly need was there, the welcome hamper was great and thankfully we didn’t need to find a shop for the essentials as it was all there. quick response from the owners when needed, would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back."

"We stayed for four nights in June and were delighted with the facilities provided. One king size bedroom, one double bedroom and a small room suitable for a child (we brought our own crib for the baby). Small details like the stair gate and a few toys helped too. The patio furniture was well used as we had glorious weather. Staplecross is well placed for exploring Rye. Hastings, local vineyards and National Trust properties. We would like to return next year!"

"In a grand old house overlooking the flatlands to the sea, with a view of miles. First impressions: huge. Second: who’s having which room (they all were en-suite so it didn’t really matter). Third - I want a bookcase like that one! We loved the first floor reading book as much as the sun room sofa. This was an easy stay in central Rye. A bit of a faff with two cars to park and repark - but parking is so inexpensive, we could park for 24 hours for less than it costs for an hour at home. The...
