"Very central property, very convenient for visiting the city. Not quite the 5* we expected but was ok for one night. Our room was down under ground level with an interesting view over gutter pipes and it was quite noisy - both from inside and outside the hotel. We only booked one night, it is unlikely we would have stayed longer than this."

"Greta location, 10-15 mins walk into the city centre. Very warm welcome from the chap at the hotel. Couldn’t do enough for us. Room was spotless, tea and coffee facilities. Hotels.com advertise a free breakfast but they don’t do this anymore. Not an issue for us but could probably be updated. Slight noise from other rooms and the street but the hotel provide earplugs and the windows have an extra screen to try and keep noise out. If street noise really bothers you, don’t book a hotel on a main...

"Good location, close to the centre, had to keep window open due to radiators been on full blast so was abit noisy. But beds comfortable and the room and bathroom clean. Would stay again. "

"We stayed for 3 nights for a Christmas shopping trip, the hotel is in a perfect location very close to York Minster and with lovely bars and restaurants on the doorstep. We were met with a very warm welcome, our room was small but had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. I would highly recommend this lovely boutique Guest House"

"Nothing terribly unique. But it was withing decent walking distance of York city center and all the attractions, shopping, and food that goes with that. The breakfast was also incredible. Really excellent. The neighborhood was very quiet and felt quite upscale. "

"Very quiet and and clean. Typical English cottage taken from a history movie, with a homey feeling. Loved staying there. Walked to town easily when the weather was good, or took the buss (station very close). Would love to stay there again when visiting York. "
