"This hotel was built in 1844 and the spa is on the lowest floor, but it’s comfortable, the pool looks lovely and the jacuzzi is huge. We also liked the steam room, 2 saunas and ice cave with a swirl of cool mist as you walk in. It’s Victorian in feel, lots of tiles but great for what we wanted. Our double standard room with a sea view was spacious and the view spot on. Staff friendly and efficient."

"Good location both for railway station and event venue (luckily climbing the hills should be good for my waistline! Not a criticism, as the hills are unavoidable.). Aside from that, hotel is fine, decent and comfortable - have stayed here before, no doubt will again. "

"What a fantastic a quirky hotel. Some features I have never seen before in a hotel like a dog wash area (very dog friendly) and a cinema room. Really surprised me and would stay again!"

"Fantastic overnight stay in the Bollinger room - with the most comfortable bed imaginable. We ate in the pub in the evening and got talking to the owner about Huddersfield pigeons and their (lack of) merits. Food brilliant - we chose a chicken and a lamb dish. Beautiful. Mediterranean cheesecake - pesto jus with olives and roasted tomatoesit it was not. Turns out it was Dark Fruit Berries !!! Super flavour. And sticky toffee pudding to die for ! Lovely breakfast in the morning. Plenty varied choice. Would we stay again ? Absolutely. Most definitely. Thank you for a great break. 🙂👏👍 "

"2nd time we have stayed at the Royal. This time was a great improvement, stayed in a brand newly refurbished room, 1st class accommodation, close to the town centre for pubs restaurants and entertainment. Definitely will be back again highly recommended. "
