"The hotel was an easy walk from the train station & had welcoming staff to assist with your check-in. Room was comfortable with nice bedding. My only compliant would be the hard pillows. The Onsen was the highlight of the property. Beautiful surroundings, clean & had both indoor & outdoor spaces. Highly recommend ! "

"Very nice hotel in a great location adjacent to railway. Easy access to shops and restaurants. The only issue was finding a bar in the hotel. Got ripped off with so called happy hour in hotel. "

"I loved this hotel! I tried to book an additional night we enjoyed it so much but they were fully booked. Room is spacious for a Japanese hotel in this price range. Easy to open and store my luggage in the seating area in our room, which isn’t common for a double twin room. We arrived early to go to the snow monkey park and the hotel stowed our luggage and had brought it up to our room by the time we came back to check in. Very thoughtful. Check in was easy for an English speaker like me. Room was lovely and clean. Provided lounge wear was so comfortable! Shower caulking was showing some mildew but I was using the onsen shower areas and never used the one if our room since I made full use of the onsen twice during our stay, and that was immaculate. Beautiful indoor and outdoor baths! Bring some change for the strawberry milk vending machine. Breakfast was fantastic. Delicious and great variety. Convenient location near the train station. Walkable to Zenkoji, which I enjoyed so I could explore the neighborhood, but was to catch the bus to the temple too. Have exact change for the bus!"

"loved it so much we actually booked same brand of hotel in the next town we visited. the onsen was so lovely, and open overnight which allowed me to relax while my partner took some calls (late night in Japan but working in business hrs US time zone). free washing machines were so nice. other treats (free coffee, tea, probiotic drinks, ice cream pops) added bonus. walkable from train station and the attractions we wanted to visit "

"We spent two nights at this hotel in a Japanese style room. We found the room comfortable and spacious. I very much enjoyed the public bath in the hotel and visited AM and PM for a relaxing soak. The hotel is a quirky mix of modern and traditional and we appreciated this.We had a wonderful breakfast buffet each morning in the hotel restaurant and the staff was always gelpful and kind. We found everything very walkable to this hotel. The station, castle, art museum, shopping, restaurants and coffee/tea/sweets are not far. We would definitely stay here again and we really loved the vibe of Motsumoto!"
